Yes, both. When applicable, I offer a student discount, and I reserve a limited number of reduced fee appointments for those who have financial need; please talk with me about making arrangements. I accept weekly and monthly payments to spread the cost of the therapeutic cycle.
Bank transfer, Card, or PayPal with regular receipt. You will receive an automated invoice before every weekly (or otherwise agreed) session, unless you choose to pay monthly or the full amount in advance.
I require 24 hours notice for cancelling or rescheduling a session. Because this time has been reserved for you, I may have to charge the full amount of the appointment with late notice cancellations and no-shows, depending on the circumstances.
Both options are available, and you’re welcome to choose what feels most convenient for you.
Online sessions are held via Doxy.me, a secure, GDPR-compliant video platform used by healthcare professionals. There’s nothing to download, you can simply join via a private link.
In-person sessions are available at my offices in Belfast and Lisburn.
You can sit or lie down, whatever you find comfortable. It is your self-care time.
We will be getting to know each other, and I would like you to know that, although establishing safety for you is my first and most important aim, you don’t have to feel safe with me right away. It might take time for you to feel comfortable with me. This is absolutely fine and normal.
In our first session I will ask you questions about you, and you will be able to ask me any questions that you have. We will mutually agree a plan, and a way, to work together towards establishing and meeting your goals.
Many people avoid therapy because they believe it means getting “stuck” for months or years, with high costs and slow progress. That can be true for some traditional approaches. But it is not the case with modern therapeutic methods.
Older schools of therapy often quote timelines of 15 to 20 sessions before meaningful improvement. By today’s standards, that is a long therapy process. Modern approaches work very differently. They are faster, kinder, and designed to create lasting change rather than teaching people how to cope indefinitely. They do not simply paper over the problem, nor do they require years of revisiting the past. Many modern methods can fully resolve an issue in a fraction of the time sometimes even in a single session.
One example of a modern approach is BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT), developed by Terence Watts. Since its introduction in 2013, it has been used worldwide and is now integrated by many therapists, including myself, because of its efficiency and lasting impact. Even complex presentations such as PTSD can often be resolved far more quickly than traditional models suggest.
So no, nobody needs to be stuck in therapy for years.
My work is integrative, which means I draw on both talking therapy and body-based (somatic) approaches, always guided by what will be most effective and appropriate for you. While I’m trained in several therapeutic modalities, my core approach is now BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT®). I use this because of its effectiveness and the depth of change it can create without requiring you to relive or analyse past experiences in detail.
BWRT is a mind-body based therapy that works directly with the brain’s automatic responses. It helps resolve patterns related to trauma, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and chronic pain at their root, rather than just helping you cope with symptoms.
Alongside BWRT, my training includes: psychodynamic (talking) therapy, somatic approaches that support mind–body integration, Somatic Internal Family Systems, NeuroAffective Relational Model, Hypnotherapy, Pain Reprocessing Therapy.
I integrate these where helpful, but always with the aim of creating meaningful, lasting change, not long-term dependency on therapy.
I do offer sessions for couples and families. However, there are a few details which need to be discussed and some of them are well described in the contract that I require to be signed.
Yes, I am. I am well prepared on the BDSM concepts and adult-consented practices. Kink-aware therapists can help with a variety of issues including: relationship issues, everyday problems, “coming out”, cultural role conflicts, "vanilla" and "kink" conflicts, internalised oppression, abuse and trauma
At this time I do not accept insurance.
