“I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety for really as long as I can remember. I’d tried all the things you’re supposed to, the medicines, therapy and exercise and if I’m honest I had all but given up. But then out of nowhere I’d an hour were things just fell away and all was okay, my brain finally stopped for a minute. That happened in my first class with Annalisa back in October last year. Since then I’ve been practicing with her every week. The way she teaches enables you to see tangible progress with each practise, but there’s always something new to strive towards so I never feel as though I’ve become stagnant. I often find I can be a little wary or intimidated by people but with Annalisa, as she’s so warm and knowledgeable and is able to impart her intelligence in an articulate manner with not only an uncommon level of clarity but also an unerring sense of the why as opposed to simply the how, I found I was almost immediately able to trust her which for me at least is unheard of.”

“I have been practising yoga on and off for years but last May I began attending Annalisa’s Yoga classes at Queen’s on a Friday.

At my first few classes I just remember watching Annalisa and thought... wow! What incredible strength and her energy was amazing! I quickly lost all nervousness and felt so at ease in the class. Annalisa has a really good energy about her and she makes everyone feel comfortable and at ease. The Friday class is extremely popular so it meant having to set my alarm for 5.59 every Friday to ensure I’d get my spot on the floor for next weeks class. The popularity of that class is testament to how fab a teacher Annalisa is. I attended the class nearly every Friday until lockdown.

The zoom classes during lockdown have been fantastic. They have given this crazy situation a sense of normality. Hearing Annalisa’s lovely accent and her little giggle brighten any day. I have been so inspired by Annalisa that I even signed up to complete my 200hour yoga teaching diploma. She’s a little yoga muse!”

“I've known about Annalisa's yoga classes for quite some time now. I always wanted to give it a go but I was finding excuses like, yoga is not for me, it's too difficult etc. Having had lower back problems since I can remember myself was one of the reasons I said why not give it a try.

Being an architect during lockdown only added to my lower back issues with stiff neck and more  back pains. So I joined the 4week zoom classes for Beginners and the results were amazing. Annalisa's calm and detailed instructions introduced me to yoga the best way possible.

Yes it was challenging, but the sense of achievement and euphoria both physically and mentally at the end of each session were invaluable. The sessions had a very nice flow and though very well instructed never felt like exercise but more like a wellness experience. Although I can tell you all my muscles did some really hard work! I could not recommended Annalisa more. Can't wait for the next round of classes.”

“I started practicing yoga online with Annalisa this past April. I recently moved to Belfast, and I am so happy a friend suggested me to practice with her! I started practicing yoga more or less a year ago, after years of curiosity. However, I really got the chance to deepen  my understanding and  enjoyment of yoga after starting to practice with Annalisa. Her classes  have just the right amount of challenges for not getting bored and to  keep on improving. In Annalisa’s classes, I discovered new movements  that I was not aware my body could do. I’ve been suffering from back pain since when I can remember and now.. it is all gone! My back is strong and flexible now, so is the rest of my body thanks to her classes!

At present, I am finishing a master’s degree, and sometimes it can be very stressful and frustrating. The anxiety and stress are often high, and I feel my energy dispersing in worries and frustration, but with yoga in general and specifically with Annalisa I can calm and re-focus my energies. I think it is the most precious gift that yoga gave me; the ability to find the balance inside me.”

“I have had problems with hips for some years now, having underwent surgery on both in 2017. I began working from home in March as lockdown set in and attended some of Annalisa’s Zoom classes in the first couple of weeks. I really loved them, challenging yet calming and perfectly sequenced. One of these classes in particular focused on hip mobility; building strength and improving range of motion. The sequence brought me such a sense of freedom after just one class. Annalisa kindly sent me a link to the recording and I repeated the same class every day since. 3 months later and I feel amazing. I can’t remember a time when my hips felt this good. I am pain free, with huge improvements in range, strength and control. Notably, I can sit in a deep squat with good posture with relative ease for a prolonged period of time. In fact, my whole body feels great and I attribute it to this practice. I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you, Annalisa!!”
